After thinking I had mice in a wall I had an inspection done. I was very surprised to find out it was bats not mice and glad I called. They came out and fixed the entry points and fixed my chimney as well. Excellent work and customer service couldn’t be happier. Very knowledgable and experienced. Highly recommend Barnes. Thanks so much to your team.

We had quite a problem with animals in our attic and in our walls of our two story brick house! The folks at Barnes Wildlife have an excellent google rating AND they took the time to explain their process with their team coming to our house immediately. Their quote was accurate and their team was very professional and courteous. They didn’t stop until they cought them all. We would definitely recommend Barnes Wildlife to handle any of your wildlife issues. 14 Flying squirrels were trapped and handled by their team. No more sleepless creepy nights. They were all truly a pleasure to work with, especially Brett. They didn’t give up and we did have them seal the whole 25 year old house. Thank you Barnes!

I had a squirrel in my wall and the guys at Barnes Wildlife came out at least 5 or 6 times to set/check traps, patch holes, and went WAY above and beyond what they needed to do to get the animal out! They had excellent communication, often checking in on things throughout the week to see if there was any progress. They never seemed to look at the financial aspect of things, instead, they treated me like family, shifting around schedules to accommodate me and making sure things were done right. From a financial aspect, they were extremely fair - honestly, for all they did, I thought it would have cost much more! I am relieved to have the problem taken care of, and it was a pleasure to have worked with such a professional company. I highly recommend their services to anyone with animal control issues.

Brett and the team at Barnes has helped my family through a difficult coyote problem right in the middle of Kettering. Brett was able to trap 8 coyotes! We had become fearful since one of the coyotes had come at me and one my dogs, we were seeing them daily and the coyotes clearly had no fear of humans! Thanks for helping make our yard safe again! Highly recommend Brett and Barnes!

Highly recommend Barnes Wildlife Control! Very knowledgeable; extremely responsive; excellent customer service; courteous in-person technicians and on-phone office staff; patient... didn't rush the process, kept coming out until sure all raccoons were gone before final touches to ensure they couldn't breach the attic again. Tommy did great work! Wouldn't hesitate us use again if needed.

We have five squirrels (FIVE!) that had take up residency in our attic. Tommy came out, figured out where they were getting in at and set up traps. We caught the first one in 30 minutes and then around one a day for the next few days. They have all been evicted and have not returned! Very happy with Barnes and how quick they were able to take care of the problem. I'd recommend them to anyone with any type of animal problem.

I highly recommend Barnes Wildlife Control. Tommy helped us out with a mice infestation. He thoroughly inspected our house inside and out and gave us very detailed advice and estimates of what they could do to help us. Per his advice we had them seal up our house from top to bottom to make sure no more animals get in. He also helped us to set traps inside the house to catch the mice. Tommy was very courteous and professional. He sent us detailed pictures of the work he did to the outside of our house. The outdoor seal up was quiet and professionally done. I would recommend calling Barnes for any wildlife concerns.

Great job done! Tommy came out and really took his time looking for a critter in our attic. Luckily for us there was none residing up there, but Tommy made us a screen(s) to cover the outdoor places into our attic. He even stained the wire to make it blend with the house. Tommy had a great personality and he was so very helpful. He cleared the roof of limb debris and cleared our laundry vent where it was opened and critters could have gotten it. He went above and beyond! I will call them again if I need help.

Woke up one morning to noise in the attic, and discovered I had a squirrel that had decided it was a good place to ride out the winter. Called Barnes Wildlife Control and worked with Wade. He did a very thorough inspection and went over where the squirrel was getting in, ended up there were two that had built a sizable nest in my attic. Wade caught the squirrels, sealed up the entrances and removed the nest. I am very pleased with their work. While I hope to not need them again, if I have pests again, I would not hesitate to call.

I am very happy with the job Barnes Wildlife Control did for me. I had raccoons in my attic. They came out to assess the situation the day after I called. I got a detailed quote and pictures. Tommy set traps, checked on them and took the critters away promptly. He communicated with me frequently by text. They came out on a Saturday to clean out the attic and reinstall new insulation so I did not have to take time off. They did a great job.

So far so good, even though only 1 mole was caught, however for over $600 worth of work they could have flattened out the holes they dug for the traps, good thing I have to repair anyway. Unsure if I will use again. Also charges tax for work too...so keep that in mind when you have work done.

Amazing company! This is the second time we’ve used Barnes Wildlife Control and the second time we’ve been delighted with their efficient, friendly and effective service. The issue this time was persistent and damaging woodpeckers who chewed up our siding on repetitive and multiple occasions. The excellent technicians at Barnes Wildlife Control identified the problem and installed some very effective reflective bird scarers in the problem areas. These are extremely well engineered light weight and unobtrusive reflective devices that dissuade birds from paying close attention to our siding. The devices are really well made and *completely* eliminated the problem! Incidentally, the devices are local in their action, so they won’t affect birds feeding at your favorite feeder, so you can still enjoy the beautiful birds while saving any damage to your property.

We are so pleased with the service that Barnes Wildlife Control and specifically Tommy provided! We suspected something might be living in our attic, so Tommy came out only a couple of days after we called. He thoroughly inspected our house for any potential entry points for unwanted animals, and also recommended trimming our tree branches over the roof, since animals could access our house that way. He found a small hole and set a trap. A few days later, Tommy called and asked if we had seen anything in the trap, and we hadn't, but I also hadn't heard noise in the attic either. Tommy scheduled a day to come out and remove the trap, and texted me pictures of the 5 flying squirrels that had left the attic! He removed them and filled the hole to the attic. He has been so professional and thorough, we couldn't be happier. I would absolutely recommend Barnes Wildlife Control to anyone with unwanted animals on their property!

We were extremely happy with the service we received from Barnes Wildlife Control! Once we called the office we received a prompt and courteous call from Tommy. He was able to come out that same day to assess our situation. Tommy was very knowledgeable about our wildlife issue. After checking our home environment he was able to assist us in creating a plan to help eliminate any wildlife that was able to access our home. The crew who came out to seal up cracks etc. outside did a very thorough job. Tommy came back the next day to make sure everything was done properly, and He also installed a system on our roof and eave to deter other wildlife problems. Insulation removal and installation after our home was sealed up was completed by a very hard working crew, JT, Pete, Chris and Tommy.Once completed they cleaned up our yard and inside our home, and it looked better than when they had started!

We want to thank Tommy and the Barnes Wildlife Control team for their prompt and professional service. We suspected we might have raccoons or other creatures under our deck, so we were interested in deck exclusion. Tommy talked us through all the options. The team installed the exclusion and checked the traps regularly. We are very happy with the installation. They did a great job working around our landscaping and making sure everything looked the way it had before. Well done!

We were pretty sure we had a dead animal in our wall, the smell was getting pretty bad, so gave Barnes Wildlife Control a call after reading about them on Google. This is a great company with great service. Tommy was highly professional. He took pictures of all of the work performed and gave me feedback throughout the process. He made a custom modification for our chimney that was very reasonable. He put metal grates on our Gable vents, filled all weep holes and completely sealed all exterior gaps, and he put a secure screen on our chimney to keep out any critters. I would highly recommend this company.

I would highly recommend Barnes Wildlife Control, they helped us when a raccoon decided to take up residence in our attic. They showed up at the times that they stated and were always super friendly and explained everything that was going to be done. Thankfully the one raccoon was caught and didn’t have any babies in our attic. We wished we would have called them long before we did! If you are having any issues with unwelcome wildlife critters then don’t hesitate to call them, they will get the job done!

My family and I are truly thankful for all the hard work that Tommy and the rest of the Barnes Wildlife crew did to rid our house of the squirrels that were wreaking havoc on it. This is the second time that we have used them and both times we were very pleased with all their hard work. Now we can relax and enjoy our 3 seasons room and not have to hear the squirrels scurrying about. They also helped rid our front porch not only of the squirrels but from the birds that were attempting to nest there. Thank you from the Pristas Family!

Tommy and the rest of the team from Barnes Wildlife Control, were great when these little raccoon critters were wanting to make themselves at home in my attic. I called, they were there the next day, Tommy surveyed my yard and found where they were climbing up to get on the roof and ultimately in the gable of vent, suggesting the plan of attack, and the first night caught the male raccoon. The trap was reset the day of pick-up and other critters came to visit too. Tommy was pretty sure we captured the culprit and we waited a week for the attic inspection, in case the mom was up there. Attic inspection clear, raccoons at bay and me the home owner happy. Professional, thorough and thoughtful to the situation, I would recommend Barnes Wildlife Control and use them again!

We have used Barnes twice now for the removal of raccoons. Every single time we have been more than satisfied. Most recently, Tommy from Barnes came out. We couldn’t have asked for someone better. Tommy was professional and extremely educated about his craft. He went the extra to ensure I fully understood what was going to be done and the pricing behind it. He also truly cared about his work and my home. He made my wife and I feel very comfortable through the whole process. Highly recommend.

Fantastic. One try and the horrible raccoon was caught. I had another Dayton area critter catcher and they tried to catch it for almost 2 months. This company knows critters and how to get them. Wow! Now we will see about the cost for the damage/remediation. They even checked my home to see areas that might need to be sealed. The raccoon was in the rafters at our barn and not in our home. But they evaluated the entire property. Wow again!

Barnes Wildlife is fantastic! Tommy was quick and effective at trapping and removing the (live) squirrel from my attic. I was quite unnerved by the whole thing, and his explanations and and calm demeanour were reassuring and made me feel far less anxious about sharing my home with a critter. Barnes Wildlife also did an excellent job trimming trees and patching up holes so that more critters don't venture in. Although I hope to never need their services again, if I do, I will certainly hire Barnes Wildlife!

Tommy and team, including the office staff, couldn’t have been nicer. I had both a opossum and skunk take up residence in my shed. The skunk sprayed when s/he was discovered and Barnes did a great job remediating the issue. I also used them to disassemble the shed and haul away it along with most of the “skunky” contents to ensure I wouldn’t have future wildlife guests. Unlike some of the other companies I called, they‘ll come out on weekends. I highly recommend Barnes and especially, Tommy!

Barnes is the best! I had a hole near the front door of my house where birds or another animal was trying to nest. Tommy filled in the hole and also performed a visual inspection of the outside of my house where he found some holes in my cedar siding. He also recommended that I put screens over my gable vents so critters don't try to get inside. The siding repair work and the gable vent screens look great!

Barnes did a great job in removing a female raccoon from our attic. Tommy came out the same day we called and set the traps. He was very courteous and explained the whole process to us. He checked the traps personally while we were out of town and then came back on short notice to put up additional screening. Once the raccoon was caught, Brett came out promptly to remove our catch, inspect the attic, and repair our roof and soffits. He did a great job also. I would highly recommend the Barnes team.

Prompt service,, company answered my emails on a holiday, had Tommy come out the next morning - he put up traps in horribly cold weather, and checked back often until the raccoons that got in our attic were removed. After making sure no other animals were present, he patched the damage the animals had done to the house. Barnes and Tommy will be my first call if I have animal problems again!

We weren't aware of any animals living inside the attic/chimney when we recently purchased fixer upper rental property and called Barnes Wildlife first strictly based on the online reviews. Throughout our company’s existence, many customers have offered to articulate how they felt about our services! Here’s a little of what they had to say.

Excellent service. Called Barnes Wildlife Control at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 24, 2013. He came to our house at 4:00 PM the same day and verified that we had one or more raccoons in our attic, determined the entry location, inspected the damaged attic area and installed necessary traps.

We called Barnes Wildlife Control to check on what we believed were birds in the attic. Jacob arrived promptly and did a complete survey of the attic with pictures. There were several areas in the attic that had been used as nesting. He also discovered that birds were entering through an unsealed space between the exhaust fan vent pipe and the opening of the wall to the outside. I would definitely use this company again.

Raccoon mother had birthed twins some 4 months ago. I trapped her myself but could not locate the babies. Barnes sealed off attic where we were hearing babies & proceeded methodically to isolate & capture them. Barnes worked carefully to drive babies into an ever-smaller space & prevent them from moving again before they could be captured. Sanitary clean up & deodorization were important steps in Barnes’ service since raccoon feces carry many virulent diseases.

It was a gross and smelly adventure for me to see. The men who performed the work were so professional and very, very good at their job. I was very impressed. The job had a lot of road blocks, but they handled the situations very well. They cleaned up everything. They took care of the smell which was from a dead raccoon. I would highly recommend these gentlemen.

They came back out and promptly caught another mole for us. I was very happy with their service and would not hesitate to recommend them.

I have used Barnes Wildlife 3 separate times for removal of raccoons and groundhogs from beneath a house that I am restoring. They have been wonderful to work with – reliable, professional, and trustworthy. On each occasion, they dealt with the problem and successfully closed the point of entry: despite their best efforts, the wildlife have not been able to re-enter in the areas that have been addressed by Barnes Wildlife. We called Barnes Wildlife Control to check on what we believed were birds in the attic. They removed the nest and sanitized the attic. Great and affordable service!

We were invaded by moles. We had put our house up for sale and within a short period of time the moles showed up and had done a tremendous amount of damage to the yard. I called Barnes wildlife control and they were out the next day, explained the process and set the underground traps. Within a week they were out 3 times, emptied and reset traps and got rid of the moles. No new lines have shown up. The gentleman who took care of the process was very nice and thorough. I would recommend them highly.

Project: Control or Eliminate Rodents

We called Barnes for help with a mouse we could hear trapped in our walls. Since we knew exactly where it was, their technician talked us through what steps to take to take care of it free of charge. He was very thorough and professional. He was upfront about the costs and what the service would entail, and allowed us to work around the charge. Will go back to them if necessary!

I live in Sidney, Ohio, and I have used Barnes Wildlife Control several times to trap and remove raccoons on our property. They are very professional, and they always respond very quickly to come and set the traps, and also to pick up the raccoons after they have been caught. I would highly recommend them.

I just met the gentleman that came out to Mars Hill Drive in Villa South condos. He was extremely polite, professional, and knowledgeable. He was so informative and took the time to explain to my husband and I how his business works and other services be they provide. I own 3 acres outside of town and because of this gentleman I will be calling your business for any animal issues I run into. I hate that I don’t recall the gentleman’s name but he has brown hair, about 5’9″ and in his mid 30’s.

Had several great experiences with Barnes. The technician who came was great. Very knowledgeable, very professional and very friendly. He made several trips out and we were pleased every time. We had a squirrel in our attic along with mice and even a snake. We ended up getting the whole house seal. Never seen such a thorough job. Very pleased. Had one interaction with the owner and couldn’t be more pleased with the customer service all the way up.

BARNES ANIMAL CONTROL: + Total Home Care

I use them and they are simply the Best! The service techs are honest, friendly, knowledgeable with Fair Prices. My first experience was with Jack when I was having a critter problem in our house. He came out, set some traps and in 2 days we had our raccoon. When I told Jack about some house electrical problems I was having he recommended Jake Barnes. Jake came out the next day, gave me an estimate and then came back and got everything straightened out and working. I’ve had NO PROBLEMS since. When I showed Jake a troublesome plumbing installation that had been lingering and delayed he offered to stay longer that same day and work on it. Well, he figured it out, got everything installed and I’ve had NO Plumbing Problems since. Barnes has also installed an electric fireplace for me, fixed my electrical outdoor lamp post and resolved a swarming carpenter ant problem. To sum it up, I’ve always gotten great service, my home’s fixed up and I’m a very satisfied customer! They are definitely my go to guys and will be yours too! Plus, They give military discounts.

My experiences with Barnes Wildlife Control:

In the summer of 2018, I was greeted by a Bat flying around the finished portion of my basement. Undeterred, I was able to remove the bat myself without injury to it, OR myself. (*Note: Not for the faint of heart, and I probably would not do this a 2nd time…).

I weakly convinced myself that the stray bat was an abnormality, and a singular occurrence, and that I did not have to worry about more such incidents. Unfortunately, over the next few weeks I was unable to ignore the growing number of “sounds”(rustling-movement) that I was hearing in the upstairs walls. I was now realizing that the “singular” bat incident was something more, and that the lone bat that I had evicted was one of possibly many others that had somehow found their way into my 2nd floor walls and/or attic space. I guessed that my previous bat-guest and was able to migrate down the wall space in order to seek the cooler temperatures of the basement area.

I scoured the internet, and found that Pest Control Companies abound. However, Barnes Wildlife control stood out to me as a more “sound” choice. The next day I called and was greeted by literally the MOST professional person that I have ever dealt with over the phone. My numerous questions were answered thoroughly and patiently by Melissa. My original instincts were confirmed correct, and I was pacified that I was now dealing with a professional organization.

Although Barnes Wildlife is a smaller-locally owned Organization, I would have bet my paycheck that I was dealing with a larger organization based on their systematic approach to my appoint scheduling-Q&A-etc…. It was apparent that the person I was talking too was not only polite and professional, she was very knowledgeable and well trained. Melissa and I set an appointment for the initial inspection. I initially balked at the inspection price and questioned what would be included in that process and why the expense? Melissa explained in detail what would be done, and assured me that the Tech would be a subject matter expert.

On the day of the Service, I was phoned by the tech confirming our appointment time, as well as his ETA. He arrived within minutes the scheduled time. He was prompt, courteous, professional, and introduced himself as Jacob Barnes. He was the Company Owner. Now, I am not sure if Jacob makes most/all of the initial consultation appointments, but… I was sure glad that the Owner was handling my case!

I peppered Jacob with questions. Un-phased, Jacob answered every question logically, thoroughly, and patiently. It was quick to discern that Jacob knew his stuff! I shadowed Jacob for much of his inspection. He took a battery of photographic evidence, often stopping and showing me his findings real time. He worked outside ground level and up to the 2nd story, and then onto the roof. He then inspected the attic over my garage, the attic of my main living quarters… (Donning shoe protectors, etc. Jacob was respectful to not getting my house dirty, etc..), and then my basement. His inspection, and the subsequent FORMAL report he sent me was convincing evidence that I needed to do something about not only a small bat problem, but an even bigger mouse problem in the garage attic that I was unaware of. Remember me balking at the cost of the Inspection and Proposal. His level of inspection and the time-effort-energy extended, more than justified that expense. If nothing else, by now I had a chance to get to know this Mr. Jacob Barnes. I found Jacob genuine and to be someone that I felt I could trust, and someone that I wanted to work with. Oh, and as I was prepared to pay him that day… he refused, and said he would bill me when all the work was completed, and not before. However, Jacob also added…. if I did NOT want to use his services, he would issue me an invoice in due time…. No high pressure sales attempt ever occurred!

As indicated, Jacob’s proposal was FORMAL and comprehensive. He clearly showed evidence to me the day of the inspection, and in the official proposal that supported his plan of attack. He also included a quote that was fairly clear to understand. This was not going to be a cheap proposition, so I called Jacob to walk me through the quote. The quote was an estimate based on his initial findings. His Labor rate was on the higher side, but fair for the type of work that was being done. I have learned over the years, you get what you pay for. After some Q&A with Jacob, a date was scheduled, and we waited for weather that would cooperate.

As the work date drew near, Melissa would call with a weather update a few days in advance of our scheduled appointment. The initial work had to be postponed several times due to inclement weather. However, it was a non-issue for me. Melissa would give me ample time to revise my week and any subsequent plans I had.

On the day they work was finally able to be conducted, a 4 man crew arrived on time and immediately went to work. They were painstaking in their tasks of sealing up my 25 year old house from literally the ground to the peak of the roof. No proverbial stone was left unturned to find and eliminate any opening that rodents could use as egress points. I was impressed.

Jacob arrived with his crew to tackle the job. During the course of the day I saw 1st hand that Jacob led his crew by example, as he did not limit himself to “Supervisory Functions” or the less-strenuous, easy jobs. I admire that.

After about 5 hours, the 4 man crew had completed the job. My yard and my house were free from construction debris, etc… Other than a few rodent “valves” that were barely noticeable, the only way you would have known the workers were there, were by the completed tuck pointing that had needed done for years. All the other modifications and corrections did not alter my house in the slightest.

Basically, the job entailed sealing my house from new critters, and evicting the ones that were already in there. Other than the escape hatches(the one-way “valves”) that were strategically placed in traffic areas, everything else was sealed up like a drum. Guards were added to my warped ridge-vent, eliminating access at those points, and Jacob even did some cosmetic touch-up on my furnace vent while he was on the roof! Bait stations were also placed around the house to address any rodent stragglers. All in all I was VERY impressed with the extent of work that Jacob and his crew had performed.

Once again, Jacob refused payment the day of service. I was concerned with him carrying these costs, especially for the labor, but… he insisted that I didn’t pay until 100% job completion. Next, we wait.

As part of the “eviction” process, Barnes does not trap or try to poison bats-rodents in the home, for obvious reasons. The eviction process forces bats-rodents to exit the few remaining points of egress, which is via the strategically placed one-way valves. Bats are not able to re-enter those valves, as they are not capable of humming bird-type maneuverability… which would be required. Mice evidently “can” reenter the valves in some cases, hence the bait stations outside on the parameter of the house.

Approximately 6 weeks later, the wait was over. Barnes sent a single, seasoned tech to the house(He was part of the original crew) to remove the one-way valves, seal up those exposed areas, and fog the attic spaces.

The attic fogging does require that you evacuate the house of persons-pets for approximately 2 hours, but… I just did work outside for the time and was not inconvenienced in the slightest. Upon re-entry there was no odor or otherwise any ill effects. I could not smell any of the fogging agent. (*I did shut the door to the room that had the attic access, and open the window and turn on the ceiling fan. That might have helped…?)

The ULV fogging agent that was used in order to wipe out the scent of the creatures that previously occupied those areas. This step was taken to eliminate my attic space from smelling like(and attracting) other rodents to what they would think was a living/nesting area.

After the final appointment I was invoiced for an amount slightly less than the original estimate. My point is that I was pleasantly surprised that I was not “stuck” by any extra-add on charges that I would have to debate/negotiate like I’ve seen done by other Companies.

Again, this was not a cheap proposition, but… it was a worthwhile investment for me and my family. I don’t want a colony of bats growing larger and larger and populating in my house. I don’t want mice chewing through electrical cables. I don’t want feces creating a mess and polluting the air with possible disease. The investment was worth it to me… and my ease of mind is priceless.

I took the time and effort to write this review for a two reasons. #1) If you are like me, word of mouth from an ACTUAL customer is worth more than any advertising slogan in order to get you “comfortable” to spend your money with someone. I am a demanding customer. I expect perfection from myself and companies/services in which I choose to do business. I can personally recommend Barnes Wildlife Control. PERIOD. Jacob is a young professional intent on building his business with quality service and satisfied customers. I am can vouch for Jacob and his Company. #2) Seldom does a company owner get praise when they do what is expected OR even when they do MORE than expected. However, EVERYONE will complain when something is not “perfect.” I wanted Jacob and Team Barnes to know that they exceeded my expectations and I would not hesitate for one second to use them again.
