Signs of wildlife in the home or attic by Dayton Wildlife Pest Control, breeding season, and what that means for the homeowner.

With spring quickly approaching Ohio’s wildlife will be falling into breeding season, and soon you may need Dayton Wildlife Pest Control. Along with that comes wildlife looking for a nice safe warm space to give birth and raise their young.  As a homeowner, no one wants wildlife living on their property,  let alone breeding, but it happens more than you may think. Raccoons, squirrels, bats, and rodents are the culprits of attic invasion, where groundhogs, skunks, opossums, chipmunks, and moles cause their damage at ground level. Here’s a few things to look out for if there’s wildlife breeding on your property. Provided to you by Dayton Wildlife Pest Control.

Signs of Wildlife Outside of Your House

-Digging under or around sheds, decks, and porches are signs of chipmunks, groundhogs, skunks, and opossums. Skunks and opossums are also known to roll sod and grass over looking for food sources.

-Raised tunnels cutting through your yard, and large dirt mounds are tell tale signs of moles.

-Light scratching noises in the walls and attic may be the sign of rodents, or possibly bats in the home.

-Scratching and “scampering”  daytime noises could be a sign of squirrels in the attic. Chewed fascia, soffit, vents, and broken, damaged, or chewed dryer exhaust vents are all spots squirrels love to use for entry. See the Humane Society article Squirrels In The Attic for more relevant information on squirrels.

So don’t ignore those noises you’re hearing, even if they are only occasional, and contact Barnes Wildlife Control to have a professional technician preform a thorough inspection and get you on your way to solving your wildlife issue.
